With a 3-1 win over Florida State, the Oklahoma Sooners have cemented their status as one of the most dominant dynasties in NCAA history – congrats to the Sooners on a third straight national championship!
The 2023 season was one for multiple pages of the history books. The Sooners rode a record 53-game win streak to the title, with five players earning All- American honors along the way. This year’s national title was their sixth in the past 10 years, a feat that hasn’t been matched since UCLA won seven titles from 1982 to 1992. Shortstop Grace Lyons also brought home the second-ever Rawlings Gold Glove Award for D1 softball shortstops!
OU’s gear made headlines this year, too. They also debuted the groundbreaking Rawlings Mantra Plus+, our most advanced fastpitch bat ever, and powered through stiff competition through the entire NCAA tournament. In Game 1 of the championship series, junior Tiare Jennings passed former teammate and Rawlings athlete Jocelyn Alo for most RBIs recorded during the Women’s College World Series . . . less than a week after Alo launched her signature Rawlings bat in Oklahoma City!
We at Rawlings want to wish a big congratulations to the Sooners for another championship. We can’t wait to see Oklahoma defend the title next year!
