No tapered handle
I just received my new Icon👎. The description clearly says tapered handle. This seems like poor quality control and false advertisement. Your customers want your respect and appreciation of their hard earned money. Seems like there might be a rush to sell more products not the best product.

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD - DEFECTIVE BAT AND HORRIBLE RESOLUTION
Dear Rawlings,
I want to pass along my complete and utter dissatisfaction and disbelief as to your defective bat and proposed resolution. This is in reference to claim number RA# 677356151. I purchased the ICON USSSA -5 2 3/4" Barrel 32" bat on December 2, 2023. I paid $373.57 with tax. I submitted the claim on June 1, 2024. I received the UPS Shipping label on June 6 and promptly shipped the bat back to Rawlings.
On June 28th, I received an email stating that the bat was going to be repaired and shipped back to me.
Something on the inside of the defective bat broke within the first month of use. There was a noticeable rattle when you title the bat from one direction to the next, and a rattle when the plate was tapped with the bat.
My 14 yo son has had to go nearly the whole season without the bat. Now the season is over and he still does not have the bat. He has never had a problem with a bat until he purchased a Rawlings. And the remedy provided is wholly unacceptable. He will only use this bat for one year, as he moves on to the next level.
I would expect a credit to buy another bat or other gear for future seasons. This only makes sense.
He previously had a Marucci bat that was FANTASTIC. I don't believe Marruci is part of the Rawlings branded companies. I will NOT let him or anyone I know buy another defective garbage product manufactured by the Rawlings family of companies.

Not worth the money
Bat was dead 2 months after purchase. Now has a rattle. Rawlings Warranty turnaround time is awful. Spend all that money and won’t have it in time for tournaments advise to stick with other companies.

I bought a 32 drop 5 version of this bat a couple of months ago and I have absolutely loved it! In comparison to the Hype Fire, I have felt that the Icon has a bigger and better feeling sweet spot and a more balanced swing weight. The ball flies off this bat like a missile and I believe the Icon is the hottest bat ever! This bat currently holds my record for exit velocity and distance! As for durability issues, there are zero cracks after being swung hundreds of times! This bat is a must buy!

Hot bat but cracked less than a month of use.
My son was super excited to get the latest hot bat! 32 -5. Ordered as soon as they were back in stock on 10/15/2023 as a Christmas gift, first used 12/26/2023, kept inside and cracked 1/17/24. Less than a month of use. I sure hope the warranty process isn't terrible and I don't regret buying this bat. What happens if my warranty replacement bat cracks after a month of use also?

- first use 9/12/2023 Broke in properly. Less then 100 swings. Off light over hand and 75mph pitching machine.

New Icon is Fire!
Son got this a little over two weeks ago. Came hot out of the wrapper no break in needed. Seems like it rockets off the bat. The sound is awesome. He had last year’s Icon also but this is his new favorite. The barrel is bigger and he loves the bat grip.

Too expensive, not diray
My son had this bat for 1 year and 2 months. It was his second bat so the use was not heavy. After the warranty expired the handle and barrel telescoped. We have the Hype fire and it was used heavily and it doing just fine. Too expensive a bat to only last 14 months.
