The future of offense belongs to those swinging an Icon. We built the 2023 Rawlings Icon USSSA -5 baseball bat with cutting edge technology.
The In/Tense carbon composite construction maximizes barrel size while maintaining optimal stiffness. As a result, you get more trampoline off the bat. On top of that, the Zero-Loss collar and connection joint creates a smooth connection between handle and barrel to eliminate any drag or vibration. In addition, the balanced swing weight maximizes bat speed and plays to any type of offensive approach.
It's time to step up and become an icon. Buy your 2023 Rawlings Icon USSSA -5 baseball bat today!

The bestWe were given one of these bats to demo from a Rawlings representative through our travel baseball organization and I can say hands down it is the best bat my son has ever swung. The bat we were given was an inch longer than my sons size and he was still able to swing it stronger faster and with more control than with any of the other bats we’ve owned. His bat of choice before the icon was a Cat 9 composite. The icon is a more balanced bat with far superior “pop”. The ball flies off the bat. We’ve had them all from Demarini to Mako to various Marucci products and the The Icon is the best. So far it has been very durable as well. Great bat

Great pop!My son is looking forward to playing 9U travel ball with this bat! Rawlings did a great job setting this one apart from the rest. Grip feels well cushioned and hasn’t slipped yet - even when hitting at batting practice in the low 40s. It’s well balanced and makes the most satisfying pop when it makes contact with the ball. It’s just good looking, too. Gives my son an extra swagger when he gets on deck and he says he can ‘rip it’ with this bat! Take a look when you first get the bat as our grip tape was a little loose. I was able to stick it back down easily and it hasn’t come back up at all after three batting practices.

Balanced bat with early rattleI received this bat as a demo product and allowed my 10yr old son and a few of his teammates to try the bat. All said it was easy to swing and lightweight which is a good thing but after only a few players the bat has developed a rattle. I know usually all that means is loose glue but still not a good thing so early. I work with a lot of baseball and softball players, as my full time job is an instructor and coach. I’ve seen a lot of different bats from all kids of companies. This one kinda felt cheaply made almost flimsy. Balance was great, pop from composite barrel seemed pretty good but feel in hand was just off. I think with a little tweak here and there you could have something!

WHOA!We finally opened this bat up for our first hitting practice of the season and were blown away. Just in appearance and feel the bat has a great wow factor.... but the extra pop my son immediately was getting was noticeable, before really any breaking in. Within a few swings he couldn't stop talking about this new bat and how we was gonna be "HITTING BOMBS" with it all season. Can't wait to see the impact it has throughout the year, especially after breaking it in and getting the trampoline effect.... We are pumped!

Rawlings Icon - A new star in the -10 USSSA space! The high end USSSA -10 space has been dominated by Demarini composite (CF Zen, ZOA, etc.) for quite some time so I am excited to share that the Rawlings Icon is a legit top tier option in this space. I'm dad and coach of a 10U team (and a long time "bat guy") so the review below will share my observations and other feedback received from the kids swinging them.
We have a bunch of these on our team. The kids typically swing 28 or 29 inch drop 10 bats and most of our Icons are 30 inch/20 ounce. I was concerned the weight might be an issue, however these scale out with a raw weight lighter than the Marucci 29 inch/19 ounce bats we have. Aside from the raw weight, these have an extremely balanced feel that translates into a swing weight that feels much lighter than the sticker would imply.
As for performance, out of the wrapper the bat sounded a little stiff (to be expected) but the balls were still coming off hard and I thought there was potential. As the bats started to accumulate more swings, the composite fibers started to break in and loosen up nicely. The change in the sound at contact was quite clear and the performance kicked up yet another notch. The break in progression was similar to what you would experience with pretty much any high-end composite that is cut right at the edge of the limit of the USSSA 1.15 BPF standard. The sweet spot on this 2-piece big barrel is massive and the exit velo at contact was excellent. If your sole focus is distance, one might argue in favor of something slightly more end-loaded, however the balanced Icon gets through the zone very quickly and that translated into a bunch of very hard hit balls.
The composite handle and connection pieces on the Icon seem to be somewhat different from Rawlings' previous top-end model (the Quatro) and I believe that may help provide a good feel at contact. Obviously, no 10 year old is going to be excited about taking one off the handle, however it did seem to be more forgiving (less vibration) than many of the other bats the kids are swinging.
The one item I'm not able to comment on yet is durability. I've long preferred the performance of the DeMarini composites at this price point, however they have known durability issues. Every single ZOA and CF Zen we've had (and we've had a bunch) have had a usable lifetime that falls on a very predictable timeline based on usage -- you should not expect one of the DeMarini's to last a full 6 month season of travel ball. Our "goal" with the DeMarini's is to hope the original and the warranty replacement combined make it from start to finish of a full season. I can't speak to the Icon's long-term durability, however we are piling the swings on these and they are all holding up well so far with no signs of spider-webbing on the outside or composite rattling on the inside. If Rawlings has nailed it on the durability with these, that would really be a differentiator that could put the Icon over the top as the single best option in this space.
All-in-all, I've been extremely impressed with the performance of the Icon and as a consumer it's great to see another top-end option I believe can compete with the ZOA and CF Zen. If you're on the fence about one of these just because you haven't seen a lot of them, I would urge you to pull the trigger on it. As word continues to spread on these bats, feel free to jump in and enjoy having the hot new toy before everyone else figures out how good they really are.

Great bat! This bat is awesome! This big barrel drop 10 feels great and I get big hits in the cages. I can't wait to finish breaking the bat in and use it in a game. The swing is light and well balanced. The grip is cool and feels great to handle. This is a hot bat and I believe 100% I will have a great season ahead using it!

Rawlings Icon 31 -10 Hot Bat Alert12u player review. After a couple hundred swings off of a tee, we did a an exit velo comparison with the following bats : 2022 CF, 2022 Zoa, 2022 Alpha Alx, Cat X composite, Victus Wood, and the 2023 Icon. Highest exit Velo was from a very broken in Zoa at 83mph, then 79mph with Icon, Alpha Alx, 78 mph with Cat X and 73pmh with wood. We took the top velo out of 5 swings.
Live hitting off of machine the Icon produced performance comparable to these well established bats with a very balanced feel. Sweet spot is a good size and mis hits didn’t ring up the hands even on a cooler day. The grip is quality and the knob is a little bit small for larger hands, but wasn’t enough of an issue to put the bat down.
Overall, the Icon seems to have good durability, and we will continue to swing and mix it into the rotation. Great Job Rawlings

Great pop and balance! My 9 year old absolutely loves this bat!! Tons of pop, big sweet spot and best of all it is very balanced. He was able to swing a 30/20 and said it felt like his 28/18 from another manufacturer.
