My 11 year old is always testing bats and has used his Meta and Cat 9 primarily in the last year, but now he’s in love with the new Rawlings Icon. He used it at demo day for his team and we just got one this week. First time out, we could immediately see a positive difference off the bat and he’s hitting it about 10-15 feet further than his Cat 9. He loves the feel of the bat, the sound off the barrel, and the distance that he’s hitting it. And it doesn’t sting at all. It’s definitely going to be his primary bat moving forward.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lots of pop but didn’t last We received this bat through the ambassador program ( klutch 10U Lees) last November or December. My son liked the bat and it had plenty of pop. We did replace the stock grip with a Lizard skin when the original started coming loose. Unfortunately in late April, the bat broke right in the meat of the barrel. I’ll attach some pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super hot out of the wrapper! We received our 2023 Rawlings Icon 30/20 last week. My son will turn 10 in January and had typically swung 28 and 29 inch bats. We took the wrapper off and went to the hittrax. With a very well broken in 29/19 meta he was able to top out at 68 mph exit velocity, which is great. With the Icon 30/20 he was able to reach 73.7 within the first 25 swings!!! We were blown away. These Icons are as hot or hotter than anything on the market and 150 swings in, no paint cracks or present structural issues. We're very happy.

Not only does the bat have excellent "pop" it will absolutely help me get a girlfriend when I drop bombs with it. You absolutely need this bat if you want to compete with the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sold bat huge sweet spot My son is on a 8U USSSA team and has hit 9 home runs over the fence with room to spare in 1 1/2 months . He 1st 2 at bats on Saturday he homered both at bats . The other team walked him on the 3rd at bat. (I did not know you could walk an 8 year old but you can 1 player per game) you can confirm my story by going to cape National youth baseball Cape Coral FL his name is Dominic . The Bat is amazing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-balanced, powerful swing Immediately upon receiving this bat, you could tell it had a nice clean look to it. It's a 2-piece composite with a thin handle and a nice grip and feel. It's got a massive barrel and a light swing. After taking a few swings off the tee, you could tell that the balls are just flying off the bat with an amazing trampoline effect. It's got a nice, even balance to provide a good smooth swing through the zone. It's packed with power, and I can't wait to see what it can do in a game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing feel and pop! I and my son were skeptical of the bat as he's mainly only sung the Solo and recently the CAT9 and CATX. We entered into working with this bat as an experiment to open up to other bats. He likes to be different so having a different bat is one thing he wanted to look into. We got the bat a bit bigger than normal just so he could use it and grown into it. We were shocked at how light and level the bat swung. He gives all his bats names and with the finish and look of this bat, right out the wrapper he named it "Killmonger". We went to the batting cage for soft toss, and you could see the balls jumping off the bat. Balls just got faster off the barrel the more he hit with it. Overall, this is a bat that caught us both off guard and he can't wait to step into the batter box with "Killmonger" this Spring season!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ball Flies Off the Bat!! Writing this post for my soon who was hitting with a Marrucci Cat 9. Once he started hitting with the Icon, it was clear his swing improved. Not only did he have a more compact and faster swing but the contact was solidly square. To be candid I was worried about a smaller sweet spot given the shorter barrel but the ball flew off the bat. It appeared as though the shorter barrel actually dropped more weight and he was able to swing faster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge upgrade! We are just getting this bat warmed up and have spent two days in the cages. This has been an huge upgrade for my 12U son. He says this bat is very well balanced and allows him to get though the zone faster. It has a Huge barrel with an extremely large sweet spot. As a bystander the sound of this bat is fantastic! We cannot wait to get some more reps in this offseason and get this ready for some gameplay this spring!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ball flys off the bat in my son’s hands My son tells me the bat allows him to get his hands to the ball quickly as the bat feels balance in his hands. Not too heavy for quick movement to the ball but not too light where does not feel power in his swing. He can feel the drive of the ball as he hits the balls in the outfield. I definitely see the ball jump off the bat compared to his other bat. We have winner with this bat.

He said that the bat feels lighter than his Cat9 which is the same length and weight. He was making solid contact with the bat and the the was jumping off of the bat. He said that the bat felt like it had a balanced swing to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pop, decent sized sweet spot My son couldn’t wait to try it out of the wrapper. Bat immediately had good pop and a decent sized sweet spot. He’s 10 so his swing isn’t mechanically perfect and he did realize quickly that his hands would sting if he hit it any where outside of the sweet spot. He is looking forward to using it in some tournaments this year to see what it can do!

As a small 11 year old, we have struggled to find a bat that is balanced but still has good pop. After breaking in the bat, he loves the power he gets from the 30 in (-10) and is impressed with the sweet spot. Overall, I highly recommend this bat for players of all sizes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Icon"ic With it being winter and the weather not cooperating too much, my son has been dying to use his new bat. He currently owns a CAT9 as well as a CAT9 Composite. He's been begging me for a CATX, but has ceased doing so since receiving this bat. Out of the box, it has a sleek look especially with the black and gold color scheme . We took a lot of soft tosses and the first thing my son mentioned was how much he loved how his hands didn't hurt due to the vibration-reducing grip. He is currently on a Travel team, but there's been numerous occasions where he had to drop his bat in pain! Hitting into the net, he loves envisioning if he's getting singles, doubles, triples, homers, or outs. He did notice that there were a lot more homers with it. Can't wait to take it out on a field and get some live, game action. He's always struggled with power (he's a smaller guy) so looking forward to the spring season! Only gave 4 stars due to the fact that we have only hit soft toss into a net...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Balanced and true to weight 30/10 Bat was balanced and true to weight. It weighed in at just over 20 oz and a full 2 oz less than his 29/10 cat 9 composite. The bat was a step up in size and a little big but he got it around and hit well in the cages at 50. Plenty of power from the sweet spot and it may be his new favorite bat.

As a bystander the sound of this bat is scary good! We are still breaking this bat in but it’s going to be a monster come baseball season!

We haven’t had a chance to use it in games yet, just in the cage & tee. Seems to have a good amount of pop for sure. Looking forward to hitting outside to see the difference this baseball bat will make.

It even has a grip that he doesn't want changed. Overall Rawlings hit a homerun with this bat. I even had to swing it myself. Nice balance, no vibration and great pop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking bat and performs well We received the bat a couple weeks ago and tested it against our Zoa bat. It handle the rigorous tee and pitching machine work we did. The bat overall handles well but still needs to be broken in. We look forward to seeing how it will handle once it’s properly broken in.

Used it in a tournament this last weekend, cranked one out to deep center my first at bat on a miss hit. Feels great coming around and even better on contact. 10/10 recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great balanced bat. I got this bat for my 12 year old son. He usually swings a demarini cf zen and Louisville meta. He prefers the Rawlings bat because of the balanced feel and the explosive pop he gets off the bat. Highly recommend to anyone looking to step up their game.

Coming from a 1 piece Cat 8 it doesn’t have the same high pitch ping. The sweet spot seems larger than most. Definitely looking forward to game use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Bat right out of the box My son picked up this bay a few weeks ago and has been able to take it to a few hitting lessons so far. Even his instructor commented on the velocity that the ball was coming off the barrel. Can’t wait to see it in game use in the Spring!
