The Rawlings Velo™ catcher's set is the ultimate protective gear in one package. This series is designed with a modern and stylish two tone fade. The chest protector has AB wedges that remain flat for added ball rebound control and the shoulder caps are adjustable and removable for convenience with extended protection on the Left shoulder. An adjustable back harness allows for a custom fit. The "C" Channel technology creates a form-fitting wrapping of the chest protector for maximum mobility and flexibility. The Dynamic Fit System provides optimal fit that automatically adjusts the chest protector to the correct position. Tri-Tech padding keeps air circulating on both the chest protector and leg guards, allowing the release of hot air and the flow of cool air. The leg guards are designed to be conforming and lightweight for comfort and mobility. They also have the patented Supertoe that offers ultimate instep protection and a toe flap strap that stays in protective position whether crouched or running to back up a play.

Got to these for my 13yo daughter for competitive play, she started using them in February. The nylon strap connecting the small white panel to the top of the knee is only stitched to the padding of the knee protector, where other connection points are riveted to the plastic. The thread holding the strap is exposed on the face of the knee guard, and after only three months of play, the thread broke tonight at practice. Dropping & blocking is part of the position, the equipment should be able to handle that activity for longer than three months.
